After "the Catch"

We're in year thirty eight after "the catch"

On January 10, 1982 the late Dwight Clark caught what had to be the longest six yard touchdown pass in the history of the NFL play-offs.  Niners 28, Cowboys 27.  In an instant long time irrelevant losers, became winners.  A year after being 6-10 - the San Francisco Forty-Niners were headed to their first Super Bowl and eventual victory.  The first of seven appearances and five championships - to date.

Clark and head coach, Bill Walsh, are no longer here.  But Joe Montana, Fred Dean, Ronnie Lott and many others still are. This moment and their performances live on. So does my memory, to date.

Experimenting working fast and primarily with a palette knife helped bring life to this moment.  A lot of fun for a weekend's work.

20"x 24" Acrylic on canvas.
