"Case of the Mondays"
“Does someone have a case of the Mondays?” said to Ron Livingston’s character from Office Space.
I should after last weekend. Friday my wife Kevan and I went to Helium to see Kevin Pollak. He was awesome. His Christopher Walken at Trader Joe’s was absolutely hysterical. Added was his classic Captain Kirk and Jack Nicholson impersonations and some great Hollywood stories. Trust me, Helium and Pollak were well worth the modest investment and we are now avid supporters of local comedy. Saturday we topped the night off with a late night Pliney at County Cork with friends. Sunday it was Django Unchained at the St. John's Theater $4 for a first run movie and just five more Oscar nominated films left for us to see. In between, there were 3 ½ NFL Play-Off games – two of which were spectacular.
Oh, and I’m sharing this 21” x 26” hand crafted metal frame thingy acquired at Iron Horse in Bend. Actually it’s a Christmas gift from my sister - thank you, Amy. I decided to fill the small panes with images of my parents’ honeymoon. Using acrylic medium to tint the pre-sized masonite squares – I used the image transfer technique from 1956 B/W snapshots. My objective was to give each pane an aged worn look that matched the frame. I know there’s not a lot of chest hair on this project. I just thought well, I made a 2013 resolution to blog every Monday and this is all I had this week. Things to look forward to? Two weeks from today is my colonoscopy… I’ve been assured everything works out. Everything. Talk about a case of the Mondays!
